JADE Wellness Center is honored to announce the hiring of Dr. Shannon Allen as full time addiction psychiatrist on staff. Shannon Allen, MD is a graduate of Drexel University College of Medicine. She trained in general psychiatry at Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic (WPIC), University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and completed a fellowship in addiction psychiatry at WPIC. Dr. Allen\’s practice specializes in care of patients with addictive disorders and comorbid mental illness. Dr. Allen\’s interests also include opioid substitution therapy, management of HIV and Hepatitis C virus, overdose prevention, pregnancy and postpartum care, and working with trauma survivors. Dr. Allen is board certified in both general adult psychiatry and addiction psychiatry. She enjoys hiking with her two pups, traveling to sunny beaches, and meeting new people. Jade could not be more excited to have such an experienced, kind, caring individual on staff!
