Recovery affects more than the individual—it affects families, relationships, and the people who care most.

At JADE Wellness Center, our family program provides education, support, and opportunities for meaningful connection. Whether you are supporting someone in recovery or participating in treatment yourself, our programs can help you better understand substance use, mental health, relationships, and the recovery process.

We offer several different paths to support individuals and families through our family services.

Family Matters Group

Support and education for adult family members of individuals with a substance use disorder.

Register for Family Matters

Family Matters meets virtually on Zoom on the second Wednesday of every month at 6:00 PM.

Family Matters is a virtual support and education group designed specifically for adult family members and support people. The individual receiving treatment for a substance use disorder does not attend this group. This is a dedicated, supportive space for family members to receive support while learning skills to help their loved one throughout their recovery journey.

Supporting someone through substance use and mental health challenges can bring uncertainty, frustration, worry, and exhaustion. Family Matters provides a supportive environment where you can focus on your own experience while gaining practical tools for navigating your loved one’s recovery.

Participants will:

  • Learn about the stages of change and what they can look like throughout recovery
  • Better understand substance use disorder and its connection to mental health
  • Learn practical ways to support a loved one without taking responsibility for their recovery
  • Develop healthier boundaries and communication skills
  • Strengthen coping skills and learn how to care for yourself while supporting someone else
  • Connect with others who understand the challenges families and loved ones experience

“The opposite of addiction is not sobriety, but human connection.”

The Family Room

A space for connection, understanding, and recovery

The Family Room is an in-person group for JADE clients and an adult support person to attend together.

Register for the Family Room

Recovery can change relationships, communication, trust, and family dynamics. The Family Room creates a supportive environment where clients and the people who care about them can have conversations that may be difficult to have on their own.

Together, participants can:

  • Learn more about substance use, mental health, and recovery
  • Explore how substance use and recovery affect relationships
  • Practice healthier and more effective communication
  • Discuss boundaries, expectations, and ways to support recovery
  • Strengthen relationships and support systems
  • Build greater understanding of one another’s experiences

Come together and have the conversations that don’t usually happen.

Private Family Sessions

Sometimes families need more individualized support than a group setting can provide.

JADE clients may request a private family session with their therapist when they would like to address a specific relationship concern, improve communication, or involve a family member or support person more directly in their treatment and recovery.

The client and therapist will work together to determine whether a family session is appropriate and who should participate.

Individual Support for Family Members

Family members and support people may also benefit from having their own private space to address the emotional impact of supporting someone through substance use, mental health challenges, treatment, or recovery.

Through Bloom Mental Health, adult family members and support people can access individual counseling focused on their own needs—including stress, boundaries, communication, relationship concerns, coping skills, and emotional wellness.

If you are a family member or loved one of someone experiencing a substance use disorder and would like your own therapeutic support, our sister organization, Bloom Mental Health, can help. Visit Bloom’s provider page to learn more about the therapists on staff and find someone who may be a good fit for your individual needs.

You don’t have to be the person receiving treatment to deserve support.
